Nisenan Community Park is a great park with splash pad and nature trails located in Folsom.

If you’re looking for a large park to do some nature exploration, splash at a splash pad or just try a little bit of everything, Nisenan Community Park has all that and more! We were drawn to the park because it is situated on the Empire Ranch Loop Trail, a long paved path that is connected to the network of paved paths in Folsom. From the park you can make your way North, South or East on a trail. The connecting paths make it possible to go for a walk or bike ride as long or as short as you would like.

The park has a playground that is suited for kids that are toddler to young school aged. There is a spinning seat, a small rock climbing wall, a snaking set of bars to maneuver through, and slides. There are separate play structures for big kids and little kids. The little kid playground is perfect for new walkers and toddlers to explore. There are baby swings and big kid swings and the splash pad is great fun for all ages! The park has a large covered pavilion, a baseball field with dugout and an overlook to view wildlife. There are bathrooms at this park and they even have an outdoor shower to rinse off after using the splash pad!

There are rattle snakes in the rocky areas of the park in the summer, so please be careful and talk to your children about them.
