Prospect Park packs a wonderful variety of amenities into its 23 acres.

Situated in central Clarendon Hills, Prospect Park packs everything you could want in a suburban park into 23 well-maintained acres. Surrounded by a quiet residential neighborhood, its grounds are shared by the Clarendon Hills Park District Community Center, an elementary school, and a middle school. It’s a convenient, relaxing hub for outdoor activities and sports for a variety of age groups.

For those wanting a peaceful spot to simply get a breath of fresh air, benches and picnic tables can be found scattered around the park, overlooking two small ponds and grassy fields. A picnic pavilion provides a comfortable space for larger gatherings.

For those wanting more activity, the park offers a ton of fun options. Kids will love scooting or biking on the paved path, flying kites on the lawn, or practicing their favorite sports at one of the athletic fields. The half-mile path is also a peaceful, convenient place for stroller walks with little ones. A baseball diamond, a soccer field, a sand volleyball court, and tennis courts can all be found in Prospect Park. A seasonal sledding hill and an ice rink make the long Midwestern winters more fun.

The playground has a mulch surface and a nature-inspired play set with many fun features, including multiple slides, fine motor play stations, and a rope bridge. Two swing sets, a climbing caterpillar, and a merry-go-round can be found nearby. Little ones will delight in discovering the little colorful carvings of animals inside the tree trunk tunnel!

Free parking can be found in the spaces dedicated to the park on Norfolk Avenue. The park is a short drive or bike ride away from Clarendon Hills’s quaint downtown, where The Little Creperie, The Village Gourmet, and The Daily Scoop offer easy, delicious options for lunch or treats before, or after, playing at the park.
