Ridgewood View Park is a beautiful place with a playground and other facilities.
Remodeled in 2016, this 6.72-acre park is located in the Cedar Hills neighborhood, in Portland, close to Hwy 217. Ridgewood View Park sits atop a reservoir and next to the Ridgewood Elementary School.
Half of Ridgewood View Park is a natural area with graveled trails where you can have relaxing short walks. There are tennis courts, a bocce court, and the first pickleball courts in the district. Besides that, there are a shelter with picnic tables and a small parking lot (for no more than three cars, but you can park your car on the street close to the playground area). Keep in mind that this park doesn’t have restrooms or portable toilets available.
The play area is well maintained, and clean, with new structures, synthetic turf floor, paved paths around, benches, and a large grassy area good for active play. It doesn’t have a ton of play equipment, but there are lots of room to run around and kids can ride bikes and scooters on the paved paths. This playground has four swings available (two for babies), a small merry-go-round for one or two kids to play standing up, and a cute large structure with stairs, climbers, slides, and a bridge.
Finally, on weekends or non-school hours, you can follow the trails in the nature area to reach the elementary school playground. And for some final advice, Ridgewood Park has a continuous moderate road-noise, but tolerable, since it is nestled next to the freeway. Bring water, snacks and have fun!
