Rohr Park and Trail is a fun-filled outdoor adventure to enjoy with the whole family!

Rohr Park and Trail is a beautiful 59.9 acres park located in Bonita. There are many trees all around the park, offering nature lovers a sense of peace and tranquillity. There are plenty of activities for each member of the family to enjoy, such as two separate play structures located within walking distance, a golf course, basketball courts, a fitness area, plenty of open grass space, a 3.1-mile trail, a live steamer (train), a ball field, soccer fields, gazebos for celebrations and a large dog park. 

Children will have a fun time playing and meeting new friends at the playground. The first playground is the Tot Lot. It offers little ones the chance to explore on their own while parents can easily assist them. The Tot Lot includes double slides, baby swings, climbing structures, a fun tunnel, and monkey bars. The other playground is a newly designed park that opened in 2021 and offers a unique way of playing by allowing children to practice fitness and exercise. The playground's new design includes a zipline, swings, obstacle courses, climbing structures and a large slide.

Enjoy a leisurely stroll at the Rohr Park trail. The trail is a very popular thing to do when wanting to get some exercise outdoors. My family and I enjoy going for a power walk on the trail because the popularity motivates you to keep going and reach the end. We do take a push wagon for the kids because they tend to want to take a break from time to time. We walk about 3 miles, but you can definitely take the longer route to get more miles during your routine. On the trail, you will experience different scenery throughout and enjoy the safety of a wooden farm fence. While on the trail, you will sometimes spot a few horses or ponies walking with their owners. We've asked horse owners before if we could pet their horses and they kindly allowed us to do so. This was a very fun experience for the children.

Ready to take your little fur friend to the park so they can run freely? Rohr park also has a brand new dog park. It is about 1.4 acres. The dog park offers a fun obstacle course with a cute little tunnel the dogs can run in and out of. We usually lay out a picnic blanket and enjoy sitting near the park to watch the dogs play and have some fun. The Dog Park is closed on Mondays from 7 a.m-11 a.m and is otherwise open from 7 a.m until dusk daily.

Plan a trip to ride the fun Live Steamers. The train is so much fun and runs in a small track loop around the park. The live steamer runs the second Saturday and Sunday of each month except for September, during which it only runs on Labor Day weekend. The run time is 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Rohr Park has restrooms available and plenty of parking spaces and lots. There are three parking lots at the park in total, one is a shared lot with the Bonita Library and golf course and the other two parking lots are for the park. 

There are plenty of restaurants and shopping centers near the park. There is a delicious coffee shop as well. J.E.T.S Espresso is conveniently located across from the park. Also nearby is Holy Paleta, a unique ice cream shop that offers a variety of fun authentic flavors and is another recommended place to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Rohr Park will keep you active throughout the day, so plan ahead and bring supplies if you'd like or just show up and seize the day. Either way, a family fun adventure awaits.
