The SEE Science Center is an interactive science center with hands-on exhibits in the heart of Manchester.

We were pleasantly surprised by the SEE Science Center! Coming from Boston, we're used to much larger museums and didn't have very high expectations. But we really enjoyed the SEE Science Center! Although we only spent a couple hours here, we could have stayed for the better part of the day!

The SEE Science Center spans two floors of a historic mill building in Manchester, New Hampshire. Exhibits cover human biology, biotechnology, the solar system, bubbles, simple machines, physics, Legos, and more! Every exhibit has some interactive features, which kept all three of our children busy. My sons especially loved building a tube track for golf balls along a magnetic wall and blowing giant bubbles. Each floor is one large room, which made it very easy for us to keep track of our children while allowing them the freedom to explore different exhibits at their own pace. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, but we didn't experience any crowds.

The SEE Science Center is home to the LEGO® Millyard Project, the largest permanent LEGO® installation at minifigure scale in the world. It's a to-scale Lego model of Manchester’s Amoskeag Millyard as it might have looked circa 1900. According to SEE's website, the display was built with three million bricks! It's really impressive to look at and includes many placards with historical explanations about the different sections.

As listed on the website, the science center also offers:

  • Hands-on Exhibits
  • Daily Demonstrations
  • LEGO® Millyard Project
  • Science Gift Shop
  • Group Programs
  • Outreach and Virtual programs
  • Summer Camps
  • Preschool programs
  • Birthday Parties
  • Memberships
  • Adult programs

I have lived in the Boston area for well over a decade, first as a student, then as an early childhood teacher, and now as a mother of three. With my family, we enjoy trying new restaurants, going to museums, meeting friends at area playgrounds, and traveling to new countries. In the summer we spend a lot of time at the beach with family, and in the winter we love sledding and building snow forts. In my free time, I love planning trips and outings, reading, trying new foods, cooking, and traveling.
