Feed the goats at the Surfing Goat Dairy in Maui.
Surfing Goat Dairy is a must when traveling to Maui - if not for the incredible views, then for the cheese! Take a break from the beach and head 'up country' to the charming town of Kula to see the vast greenery the island of Maui has to offer. You'll get to see all sorts of animals before you even reach the farm, which will really get your kiddos excited about what's to come!
There is just enough covered parking for visitors once you pull through the loose gravel drive. Next, head to the main house to check in or sign up for a tour (they last about 30 minutes and start on the hour, depending on what time you purchase). Everyone is super friendly and knowledgeable about the grounds, its history, and of course, the goats and cheese-making process.
We were lucky enough to see a newborn baby goat, a lot of babies, and feed the adult goats by hand. The gift shop has many goat-based products (cheeses, soaps, and other Surfing Goat merchandise). They do offer snacks and shaded space to dine and relax while you're there. There is a fantastic sandpit and play area for the kids, so be sure to carve out some time to stay and play. To get there, I highly recommend taking the less windy road up to the farm, Pulehu Road, to avoid unnecessary motion sickness. Then, make the trip worth your while and head to Ocean Vodka Distillery for lunch just down the street!
