Enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the South Maui coastline as you stroll the Wailea Beach Path.
Walking the beach path in Wailea, Maui, is an amazing way to immerse yourself in the island vibe. Strolling between the 5-star resorts and the beautiful coastline, you will not only get your steps in (it's approximately three miles long), but you'll have a chance to take in the stunning views and local wildlife such as whales turtles, and birds.
The pathway starts at Mokopu Beach (in front of the Andaz) and stretches down past the Four Seasons to Polo Beach park. This is an excellent activity for all ages, and while the pathway can be very narrow and hilly in parts, strollers do just fine. Most of this path is in full sun with a few shady spots, so plan accordingly! A hat, sunscreen, and shoes you can walk in are all highly recommended.
A great snack spot called Whale's Tale sits between the Wailea Beach Resort and Grand Wailea. Their smoothies are the best, and the banana bread is out of this world! The pathway can be busy and hot, so get there early in the morning so you can get a good parking spot. There is free public parking. The Ulua Beach lot just south of the Andaz is a great option. Bathrooms can be found at some public parking lots (there is one at this lot), or you can take a chance by walking into a hotel lobby. However, not all of these resorts allow the general public to enter the beach side.
We love this walk and look forward to it every time we visit the island!
