Triskelee Farm is a 24-acre family-run farm located in West Linn, offering private and public tours where you can meet goats, sheep, alpaca, ostriches, rabbits, horses, and a mini horse!
Triskelee Farm is a family-owned and operated farm that offers Farm Experiences where you can pay to take private and public tours of their working farm. Their farm consists of three generations of family living together; their name Triskelee comes from the Celtic symbol, Triskele, meaning "things of three."
Our tour guide was Nicky. She was incredibly kind, patient, and enthusiastic. She has a wealth of knowledge around every element that goes into running a working family farm and is eager to tell you all their experiences raising the animals, carding alpaca fiber, milking goats, making cheeses, creams, soaps, and more. Not only is she eager to share her experiences with you, but she does so in a way that even the youngest kiddos can understand.
There are tons of friendly animals that you will meet, most of which you are allowed to pet and feed! They have goats, sheep, alpaca, ostriches, rabbits, and horses. In addition, peacocks and chickens roam the grounds, along with their sweet doggos. We arrived just in time during our visit to meet the newest addition to their farm fam, an adorable little baby piglet who was four days old. I have experienced a whole lot of cuteness in my life, but nothing compares to the ridiculously cute snorts of a newborn piglet!
Farms are by far one of my favorite family adventures! Exploring, breathing fresh air, moving your body, seeing and smelling new things, sharing stories…I can't think of a more holistic outing to take the kids! However, touring farms and getting up close to new animals can be a bit of a sensory overload at times, especially for little ones on their very first farm adventure. Nicky has a toddler of her own and knows just how big those toddler-feelings can be. Our little one was overwhelmed at first, but Nicky was beyond kind, caring, and compassionate in helping our child overcome those big feelings so that she could carry on and enjoy all of the amazement Triskelee Farm has to offer!
Reservations must be made in advance online. The small public tour costs $50 for up to 6 people and lasts for 50 minutes; this tour time will be shared with up to three other parties (with a max of 18 people altogether). Private tours can be scheduled outside of regular hours, but there is limited availability; they cost $150 for up to 15 people. $10 per additional person. Add on a horse ride for riders three years and up when you arrive! They are $10 for 2 laps around. (Babies that are carried or worn in a baby carrier are free with paid adult entry)
Additionally, they offer Tipsy Tours complete with wine and beer for adults, educational classes, and camps such as Winter Day Camp and private parties.
Tours go rain or shine. Remember when getting your kiddos ready for the adventure of a farm! Be sure to dress your kiddos comfortably in clothes they can get dirty and/or wet, and also be aware that they will definitely step in some kind of poop because you're wandering around animals' quarters and getting up close with them!
Expect dirt and uneven, slippery surfaces. Bring or wear closed-toed shoes that you don't mind getting dirty. The tour is outside, and easy to practice social distancing with limited touchpoints.
They have several free-range animals roaming the property that do not like dogs, so please leave your dogs at home.
