Unionville Community Park is a picturesque little park in beautiful Chester County Pennsylvania with lots of open space to enjoy.
It’s a nice small community park that is very well maintained. Everything felt so fresh and clean which made it such a relaxing place to just enjoy being outdoors. The playground is brand new and is perfect for younger kids ages 2-5. We loved that the playground had that soft rubbery surface without any mulch or dirt which can get so messy with little ones and it gives a little more cushioned landing if they happen to fall. It has lots of play equipment for them to master climbing, running around and sliding down. It goes along with the history of Kennet Square which is the mushroom capital of the world, with adorable little mushroom pads to sit on or jump across. The playground is complete with swings for all ages and abilities and a shaded pavilion with picnic tables that can be rented for parties or just a nice spot to enjoy a shaded lunch. One of the greatest amenities is the very clean bathroom building which also has convenient hand sanitizer stations on the outside.
Besides the cute playground, there is also a paved walking trail running through the park. It's less than a mile and It is nice and wide making it convenient for strollers and also walking dogs, even though it is slightly hilly in parts. The path is a scenic nature walk that runs south to a stretch of a wooden boardwalk area over some wetlands. The path includes a viewing platform giving the chance for your child’s imagination to run wild checking out nature. Several benches are placed along the trail to stop, rest and take in the calm beautiful scenery.
The town is putting a lot of effort into making this a nice area for the community to gather. We noticed a new place in the process of opening across the street called Farmer & Co Coffee Shop & Market. It looks like it will be a great stop that we will definitely be checking back for. It will be an Artisanal Market, Coffee Bar and Garden with a focus on local and sustainable organic provisions that they grow right in the backyard! They will have not only coffee but also cold drinks, ice cream sandwiches, fresh produce and cut flowers.
We love that there is one of the adorable Library boxes located here. It has become kind of a scavenger hunt game for our family to find these boxes and share our used books. When we see them the kids get so excited to see what treasures they may find and love to take a break from playing to read a story.
We have heard that this is an extra beautiful park to visit in the fall and a great place to enjoy the sunset.
