West Sunset Park is a fantastic park!
With basketball courts, a nice playground, three multipurpose fields, a football field, and two tennis courts - it’s a great place to come spend an afternoon playing outside! There are picnic areas for lunch in the park and several restrooms. The play structure itself is large and sprawling, providing entertainment for kids of all ages. It is tucked away on a quiet street that is walking distance from the ocean if you want to add in a little beach playtime as well! There are swings, a variety of monkey bars, rock climbing features, slides, and other unique installments that older kids would enjoy. The ground covering is rubber which is nice for a soft-ish landing and no wood chips getting stuck in shoes! The big trees provide ample shade, which is always welcome, and some are even good for climbing.
With so much open green space, kids can run free and let their imaginations take over! The library is across the street, so you can grab a few books, then get out all your energy at the park. It is also a great spot for teenagers or adults to play a quick game of pick-up or a few rounds of tennis.
Stop by Polly Ann Ice Cream for a sweet treat after playing out in the sun, or if you’d like to stop for breakfast or lunch before heading to the park, Devil’s Teeth Baking Company has coffee, tons of yummy bakery options, sandwiches, and yogurt parfaits.
