An 18-hole frisbee golf course connects the two "crest" parks!

Woodcrest Park and Wintercrest Park are in very close proximity to one another. In fact, on a map, you would think they are the same park. If you are going to one of the parks you might as well take a stroll over to the next park! Wintercrest Park has plenty of open areas to explore and play with the family. Some main highlights of this 20-acre park include a hockey rink, play area, large sledding hill, walking trails, and indoor restrooms. We enjoyed wandering through the paved trails with the stroller and taking in all of the sporting fields. We are looking forward to next winter and taking advantage of the large sledding hill! In the summer the hill creates a perfect training area for sports players or some incline training! With its close location to a neighborhood there were a large number of people walking their dogs unleashed but please note it is a city ordinance to have your dogs on a leash in all city parks.

On the weekends in the summer you can find this park busy with Little League and Adult Leagues from the Anoka County Community College. The fields were large and newly updated. If you want to have the park more to yourself it would be suggested to go on a weekday.

After enjoying the park we recommend going to grab some pizza at Sammy’s Pizza, a pizza shop originally started in the rural Iron Ranges of Minnesota!

Their family grew in October 2020 with the birth of their son Rory. Becoming parents has opened new opportunities for exploring the outdoors. Getting out with their son and dog is a regular activity. They seek out family and dog-friendly trails wherever they go. Together, Sarah and Andy also work on their podcast "Hiking Thru Life" which is about the outdoors, Sarah hosts and Andy produces.
