W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary is the place to learn about North American birds as you feed the ducks, watch the swans gracefully glide by, and meander through the trails.

A beautiful place to visit in all four seasons, Kellogg Bird Sanctuary, located in Augusta is a true gem. Have you ever wondered how birds adapt to survive Michigan winters? Or what is the difference between a Mute or Trumpeter Swan? Come explore and learn about North American Birds as you visit the sanctuary. Armed with a bucket full of corn, we could feed waterfowl, including Trumpeter Swans, Mute Swan, Canadian Geese, and ducks.

The birds of prey area house many rescued animals, including Great Horned Owls, Red Tail Hawks, and Bald Eagles. Each rescued bird has informational signs sharing the birds' unique story and facts about their habitat and species. Make sure to visit the game birds area, where you can see pheasants and bobwhites. The major trails are paved near the bird exhibits and are handicap accessible. Numerous trails, over three miles worth, lead throughout the sanctuary. Several bridges and lookouts offer beautiful views of the birds and wildlife on Winter Green Lake.

Lake Loop Trail: A dirt path that circles Winter Green Lake

Esker Trail: A short hike venturing behind the birds of prey area.

North Country Trail: This well-known trail wraps around the outer loop of the sanctuary.

BlueBird Trail: The trail winds near the entrance and on the south side of the sanctuary.
