Astraea Coffee reflects the passion of its owners for building a community around delicious coffee.

It can be hard to stand out as a coffee shop, but Heather and Christy have done a fantastic job.

Originally a cute little house, you can tell Astraea Coffee is perfect even before you step foot inside the cafe. It is clear the owners took the time to add thoughtful touches to make this a welcoming place. It's a wonderful spot to slow down and spend time enjoying the company of family or friends!

An adorable pagoda in the back has plenty of picnic tables. It is also dog-friendly. There is even an outdoor chalk board to let you express your artistic side. The front porch sometimes has live music. You can also find a place to sit or run around in the large yard. Inside, you can cuddle up in a comfy chair or gather around a farmhouse-style table. If you head upstairs, there is a great little area for the kids to play and read books.

With lattes like the Hung Jury made with honey and fresh cinnamon, or The Lawsuit, which is a lavender and white chocolate mocha, you are sure to find an original, tasty new favorite. There are plenty of options for non-coffee drinkers as well. As the menu states, Astarea's smoothies are  “nutrient-dense plant-based power houses” and can easily be made vegan. They fill little tummies and appeal to picky eaters! If you’re in the mood for a snack, Astraea Coffee offers bagel sandwiches, wraps, salads, and sweet treats. They have several gluten-free options, as well. Located right next to the West Neck Creek Natural Area parking lot, this is the perfect location to grab a drink and a bite to eat, before or after going on a nice family hike.
