Bryant Woods is a 17-acre nature park in Lake Oswego, offering trails, marshy wetlands, and a small covered bench area.

Park at the small dirt and gravel parking lot off of SW Childs Road and it’s pretty easy to see the wide gravel path leading into an open but wooded area. Right before you get to a small wooden covered bench area, there will be a smaller path on the left, which starts as a boardwalk, but soon turns to gravel. This is a very short trail that weaves through the forest and then starts to open up to a marshy swamp, where you can watch for ducks or other birds. The swamp is actually a slow-moving stream that you can see more clearly as the trail loops back to the original gravel path. There’s a bench here, a perfect spot to rest short legs or have a snack.

If you keep going down the original path (you can still see the parking area from here), there will be another smaller trail on your left. We kept straight here, following the wide, original trail until we couldn’t go any further and chose to then go left (instead of turning around). This dirt path meanders around more marshy areas and finally loops back around again to the main path and to the dirt path we have previously pasted. I used All Trails (https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/oregon/bryant-woods-park-loop) as a guide since there are some smaller paths that lead into the surrounding neighborhoods.

Dogs are allowed on leash, although we did see a few people not obeying this law. There are also no bathrooms.

Although it’s not a long hike, this peaceful walk is perfect for new walkers as it’s very flat, and could easily accommodate an all terrain stroller. It’s a wonderful place just to wander, explore, and play.

Hi, I’m Emily. A stay at home mom to two young children. We love getting outside & I’m always looking for new ways to challenge ourselves to do so. Me being an avid hiker & camper before kids, it’s only felt natural to continue exploring (if but a little slower), with them in tow. Besides hiking & camping, I’m also passionate about traveling, stand up paddleboarding, working out, swimming, cooking, reading for pleasure, living a nontoxic lifestyle, needle felting, & following my heart.
