Butler Creek is a cute neighborhood park with a playground, giant pond and walking paths.

This is a great park for both little and big kids – it has a little something for everyone. With two different play structures, both your 2-year-olds and 10-year-olds can play! There are a few benches and picnic tables near by, but bring a blanket to lounge on. The park can be a bit crowded and seating is a premium. The play structures are in full sun, but there are quite a few trees that line the area great for shade. The structures include swings, slides, cargo nets, monkey bars and climbing walls.

Just off the playground is a basketball court with two hoops. Surrounding this area is a paved loop that leads into different areas of the neighborhood. The pathway also is connected to the neighboring pond (there is paved access and dirt path access). The two areas are separated by a fence, so no stress about anyone running off towards the pond without major effort. There is a large green space as well for multiple games of football, frisbee or catch happening simultaneously.

On the pond side of the park there is again a paved loop giving access to the surrounding neighborhoods. Multiple species of birds reside here including various types of ducks and the occasional heron. There is a very steep and large hill on the north end of the pond, perfect for sledding in winter.

There are no bathrooms at this park or stores nearby, so plan accordingly! I recommend parking on 26th or 27th for the easiest access to this park. The 27th Street entrance is closest to the playground, 26th is the pond side.
