A lively multipurpose field with a surrounding track is what sets Chelsea Park apart from the parks around it.

The field can be used for soccer (goalposts and nets are there), baseball, field hockey, and running around. The track loop, where 5.5 laps equal a mile, is an awesome way for kids and adults to practice their speed and agility. Directly next to this versatile field is a tennis wall. It is a great area for families to play wall ball and practice their tennis swings.

Conveniently, there are restrooms very close to the field and athletic area for use of the public, which definitely come in handy throughout a day at the park, or just to stop at as you walk through NYC. The basketball court here at Chelsea Park is an open area and a place to run around and shoot some hoops. Kids will love being able to use a full-court to play against each other. Right near to the basketball court is a little workout area. There are a few pieces of equipment

The playground is an amazing area for kids to use. With so much open space (that is gated in),  kids can have free reign to run around on the rubber mats and do as they please without parents worrying. The jungle gym and slides, monkey bars, spiderweb nets, and other climbing structures ensure that kids will have a blast at this playground. There are also all types of swings (baby, big kid, and all accessibility) for kids to use!

Walking from section to section of this park is so easy, and the little loop is a great place to walk with a stroller or to ride a scooter around. Along this paved path are picnic tables and benches, which are nice places to sit, take a break, and spend time outside. It seemed as though it will be nicely shaded in the summer when all of the trees have their leaves back, so it’s also a nice place to eat a packed snack or lunch. Right around Chelsea Park, are a few food places (Hudson Market, a pizza place), which could be good options to pick up a bite to eat and then enjoy at the park. This really is an awesome park that families and kids of all ages can appreciate and where they can have fun!
