Plant Street runs through downtown Winter Garden and takes you back to the charm of old Florida with its strip of shops and restaurants!
This area has become a local favorite because of its quaint buildings, old brick roads, trees canopying the passage. It's an attractive place to spend a day! Winter Garden's city tagline is "a charming little city with a juicy past," which gives you everything you could know about it. It's adorably appealing when you visit, and the juicy history references the orange groves that occupied the outskirts, which have now become developments of new neighborhoods.
Make plans to visit any day of the week and find parking either parallel on the road or in one of the free public lots surrounding either end. The stroll from either end, just past Dillard Street to the right before Park Avenue, runs about one-third of a mile, but walking it can take you all day. With shops, restaurants, photo opportunities, and things to see and do here, you will enjoy your outing here. Before you reach Plant Street Market, a vendor co-op and brewery, you will find a splash pad, so remember to bring bathing suits and towels! This is a perfect combination of play for the kids and window shopping for adults on a warm day!
On Saturdays, the street comes to life even more because of the Farmers Market that runs here. But that also means preparing yourself for many pedestrians crossing the roads and cars fighting for parking spots! However, time and patience will allow you to find something. They enable you to visit with even more vendors that occupy Tremaine Street and Lakeview Avenue, the crossroads where the farmers market is hosted!
Our plan for a perfect day? Start near Dillard and stroll the shops, make a stop at the Central Florida Railroad Museum, take the kids to play at Winter Garden Interactive Fountain and Splashpad, and finish off with lunch at Plant Street Market!
