Urban Playground and Greenspace in Capitol View District
Frankie Pierce Park is a part of the new Capitol View District, located near the heart of downtown Nashville and the Gluch. It’s great for kids of all ages and has plenty of playground equipment to keep everyone busy. There is a climbing rope tower, rope globe, slides, obstacle course, and nearby greenway. It’s very spread out and the entire park area is blocked off from cars so there is a ton of room for scootering, biking, running, and letting kids roam. There is also a sand volleyball court, dog park, and lots of greenspace.
There are some shaded picnic tables, but all the playground equipment is in the sun. My son mostly enjoyed scootering in this area, and he loved going back and forth between two tunnels, which provided lots of shade. For any train loving kids, they will be pleasantly surprised as trains often pass over the bridges. We saw three trains in one visit!
The Capital View District is also home to a Publix, Clean Juice, M.L. Rose, and other retail business. After playing in the hot son, we loved being able to walk to Clean Juice to grab a smoothie.
There is plenty of parking near the playground. You can park in one of the parking garages near the playground or find street parking off Lifeway Plaza or 10th Circle N.
