No matter what you’re looking for in a perfect park day, Franklin Wirth Park has it.
When you arrive at the park, you will find a huge parking lot with plenty of spots to choose from. Parking is convenient and accessible. The park also offers bike parking in case you live by and want to bike over to kickstart your adventure. Near here, they also offer indoor bathrooms that you can use in case of an emergency. However, they can sometimes be locked, so be prepared just in case they are.
Inside of this incredible park, there is so much to explore and do. The park is stroller accessible, as you can follow the paved path around the park that is partly shaded by the scattered trees. Not only this, but by the entrance they have a handful of picnic tables for if you want to get ready, sit and relax, or grab a snack before you go, while still having the privacy away from the rest of the park.
As you follow the trail, you can find their decent-sized playground with a couple of slides and fun things to explore. Not only this, but they have another playground set located along with well-maintained equipment that the little ones will love. The park also features an awesome splash pad and public pool, so bring your swimsuits if you want to cool off on a summer day. This is great if you would like to have a picnic in the large green space or at the picnic tables under the pavilion after playing, you can go to cool off in the water.
If you would like to stay up and moving, there are eight tennis courts that can be used to play a game for older kids and adults. In the wintertime, you can come to use the ample green space after it snows to go sledding, so there’s stuff to do here all year round. You’re sure to see people out and about on the path going for a walk, run, or bike ride. If you have a dog who wants to come along for the day out, this park is dog friendly.
