One of Denver's best parks has a playground that has something for everyone
Fred Thomas Park is a large park located between the neighborhoods of Park Hill and Central Park. The park features lots of green space, a baseball field, a picnic pavilion, and barbecues. The picnic pavilion is a popular spot for warm-weather birthday parties and family gatherings.
The park's most famous attraction is its large playground. This playground is wonderful because it is divided into three sections that are geared towards children of different ages. There is an area that is perfect for young toddlers who have just learned to walk and climb. It has multiple climbing blocks that are the perfect size for new walkers. A second area is great for kids aged 4 to 7. And then there is a very high and long slide that is a hit with older children (and some adults!). Fred Thomas Park is a great place for families with children of many different ages. There are also a few seesaws and many swings that are suitable for big kids and babies, including an adaptive swing.
Next to the playground are benches and picnic tables that are great for caregivers to relax while the kids play. There are also plenty of large trees that provide shade during the warmer months. This playground is great all year long because the playground itself doesn't have much shade so it's warm enough during cold weather, but the trees provide relief from the heat during warmer months.
There is a bathroom located by the baseball field and there are no drinking fountains.
