Play, hike and bike at Grover Cleveland Park!

Grover Cleveland Park has something for everyone, making it the perfect location for a family adventure outdoors, exploring all that the park has to offer. It is one of the largest parks in the Essex County NJ County Park System and contains great playgrounds, hiking trails, fields and more. The playground is great for a wide variety of ages, with multiple jungle gym sections, each with signage indicating which age group the playground is designed for. It is very safe, especially since the little kids' area is fenced in from the rest, so older kids are separated from it. Each park features a bunch of age-appropriate climbing equipment and super fun slides. There are also swings for all, with 8 big kid swings, 4 baby swings, a handicap swing and 2 tire swings. It is a great playground with tons of options for everyone. The ground is a rubberized surface and there is minimal shade depending on the time of day that you visit, so bring sunscreen!

If you have kids that don’t want to play at the park, there is also open green space, baseball fields and tennis courts. It is a great place to bring sports equipment or just run around and enjoy the space outdoors. There is also a 1.2-mile walking trail paved loop if you are interested in a family walk. Bring bikes and scooters for the kids to practice riding on the quick loop.

Visit in the winter ford ice skating, there is a rink added seasonally!

There are plenty of amenities in the park, including a picnic pavilion, bathrooms and water fountains with water bottle filling stations. There are also port-a-potties available when the restroom facilities aren’t open.
