The Hank Aaron State Trail is a 14-mile trail in Milwaukee that is built on a former roadbed and railway.

Since this trail is quite long, there are many different access points to find along the trail depending on where you want to start, each being a bit different. Depending on which you start at, it may be a bit more or less hectic with the busy traffic nearby, especially if you are biking with children. However, once you access the trailhead, you are sure to be off on a great adventure.

This trail is perfect for any walk, jog, run, or bike ride along the different Wisconsin terrain. Make sure to bring along your dogs if you have any that like to come for the journey, as this trail is dog friendly. Throughout the trail, there is a decent amount of signage to make sure that you don’t get lost so the trail is quite easy to navigate. You can follow along the decently shaded path in order to explore and find the several different ponds and lakefront points that are accessible. Luckily, on hot days it is nice and cool under the shade so you can enjoy your hike along the different elevation changes and scenic views. You should also keep in mind that it can get quite wet here after precipitation, so make sure to plan accordingly if you are looking at a rainier week to come. Hank Aaron Trail has spectacular views that the whole family can enjoy to get out and enjoy nature.
