Kenton Park has a great playground in a great location!

Newly renovated in 2018, this park has been updated to be ADA-friendly and little-kid approved. The park has a taller play structure suited for older kids while also having the bouncy surface (versus bark chips) suited for smaller kids. There is plenty to play on - slides, swings (with an accessible swing), climbing structures, balance logs and when in season, a splash pad. It's typically on from the last day of school through Labor Day - check the website.

There are restrooms (hooray!) and paved pathways that surround the play area as well as the large green space. It has two baseball fields with room for more. Definately stroller-approved. Large oak trees line the city block allowing for more shade than most parks. There is a large gulch, with very steep hills leading down to the second baseball field, perfect for sledding in the winter. If you have a running toddler, however, keep an eye on them!

There are plenty of seating options and picnic tables throughout the park as well.

Two blocks away is downtown Kenton. There are many restaurants, shops, cafes and also the library. It's a super convenient location when you need to run a few errands, but need to get the wiggles out, too.

Living in this neighborhood we loved to walk down to Denver Avenue in Kenton, grab a coffee and a muffin at Posies and then head to the park to play the rest of the morning. This park can get pretty busy on the weekends and during the week can fill up sporadically with the local daycares and schools that stop by for their recess times.
