Nature views and tons of outdoor space for activities await at Kissena Park.

Kissena Park is a great big park that’s perfect for a spacious escape. The park features trails and walkways to stroll along the park and its many amenities. Although there are many points to enter, at the main entryway there is a restroom that is maintained and more regularly stocked. Since it’s located in a residential area, there typically is not too much trouble finding street parking by the park. If you live close by, there’s also bike parking so feel free to bike over.

There’s a man-made lake that you can fish in (but eat at your own risk). In the warmer months, Mr. Softee visits through the park as well for a cold treat. Throughout the park, there are three separate equipment sets with four slides, swings, and an adult workout area so there’s plenty of room and things for everyone to do. There also are basketball courts and lots of open grass to play any kind of sport so bring the sporting equipment.

Many people go for runs or walk their dogs through the park, so keep an eye on wandering kids since there’s so much open space. Although it may be perfect to cookout, barbequing is not allowed here. Therefore, you can leave the grill at home but bring your dog along for your family day.

There is also WiFi available throughout the park, so you can stay in contact while out and send a picture of the pretty flowers planted around the playgrounds. There’s an overall peaceful and serene atmosphere which makes for a great way to get out and relax.
