Kissimmee Lakefront Park is a great spot with outdoor activities along a lake in a little city full of history and charm.
Kissimmee Lakefront Park is only a few short blocks from historic downtown Kissimmee, which will take you on a trip back in time. The main street is lined with old buildings that feature new names and is an easy walk over to the park. The park offers plenty of parking in their lot, but if you need another option there is plenty of street parking available. If you want a real adventure, hop on the Sunrail and take the train closest to your starting point! The train station is only a few short blocks away.
The park features a lot of green space, along with shaded pavilions. On weekends it can often be seen as a gathering place for festivities. If a pavilion is not available, families will often set up tents and chairs on the green and enjoy the outdoor space together. The park has two playgrounds, generously spaced out from each other, so you can mix up your time or make for a different visit each time. It also has an outdoor splash pad, which is perfect for a hot Florida day!
The park surrounds the north short of Lake Tohopekaliga (know as Lake Toho to locals), which is also connected to the Kissimmee chain of lakes, so it's great for a day out boating. Make your way to Big Toho Marina for a place to use the boat ramp to launch into the lake for a day in the waters.
If you want to take a stroll around the park, you can hit the trail from Big Toho Marina to Brinson Park, perfect for walking, running, or biking! It's also a trailhead to continue further out Florida Trail Kissimmee Lakefront Park Trailhead where you can take the 8 mile ride to St. Cloud on the Neptune Road Recreational Pathway.
Need a bite to eat? Stop by Broadway (their main street) to check out a number of eateries. Broadway Pizza Bar serves up pizzas and a relaxed environment in a historic building. Then top that lunch with ice cream from Abracadabra - the ice cream shop also offers bounce houses! But we recommend packing a picnic and enjoying your time on the green and the beauty this park has to offer!
