Lakeridge Winery, located just west of Orlando, is a great weekend activity!
Central Florida is home to plenty of breweries, but it is hard to find a winery. But Lakeridge has taken that claim for years, producing a variety of in-house wines and also some for a sister winery, in St. Augustine. The drive is a little far from Orlando, but its worth a day trip if you are looking for something different to do. Upon arrival, there is a large parking lot that you can use with overflow parking in case of any events that make for a busy weekend.
Walk towards the wine building, and you'll be directed into the sampling room. There you will be handed a plastic cup and directed to several stations to sample their varieties. You're also getting a backstage tour while doing so, so this is okay to bring kids on as it's rather quick and also very mobile for strollers or little ones that need to be distracted during quickly. The tour ends at the gift shop, where you can purchase any wines you enjoyed. You can also come back before leaving and enjoy the vineyards.
Outside they have a large area for picnicking and playing. The fields allow for kids to run around, while you enjoy live music. They don't allow outside food or drink on the property (except for water), but they have plenty for sale. You can purchase corn dogs or peanut buttter & jelly sandwiches for the kids ($6) and menu items like cheese & crackers, hamburgers, salads, or bowls (starting at $8). There is also an on-site Twistee Treat for ice cream and desserts. For adults, you can purchase a cup of that wine you sampled inside, also trying it as a slushy during summer months or mulled wine during cold days!
