Langdon Beach has everything you need for a full beach day in Pensacola!
One of my favorite beaches in Pensacola has to be Langdon Beach. We were able to visit for the second half of the day, and I am already planning a full-day beach trip to explore all that it has to offer! The sand is perfectly fine and white, and the water was the perfect temperature. Since it is a national park instead of a public beach, it is a lot less congested than others I have visited in Pensacola. Although you have to pay to enter, it is so worth it to me, especially for a full-day adventure. There are great amenities, including well-maintained restrooms, picnic tables, and stations for rinsing off. There are no food options in the park, so we recommend packing a lunch to enjoy a beach picnic.
This beach is the designated swimming beach for the Fort Pickens Area, so it has lifeguards on duty daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day. It is much more comforting for me personally to have a lifeguard on duty, especially when visiting with a large group. There is also signage explaining rip tides and flags to signify the safety of the water conditions, which I also really appreciate.
While you are in the national park, be sure to check out Fort Pickens. Your family can explore the bunkers, forts and cannons that remain from as far back as the Civil War. It is incredible to walk through such a well-preserved historic site and is an especially impressive experience for any history buffs in your family to visit.
