Langford Park Is a Great Place to Visit While in Downtown As Its Quieter than It's Sister Park Lake Eola, and Can Provide the Nature-Lover More Adventure!
The park has a small dirt lot attached to its community center, where you can park and directly access the toddler playground. So if you're looking to make this a short visit with little ones, this is a very accessible park. You'll pass a boardwalk that leads to a covered pagoda that can be rented out for intimate events and sets the tone for this park. The community center offers a variety of activities to sign up for, so if you're looking to make it a longer stay in Orlando, check out the site for details on what is available to you.
Further into the park, you'll notice plenty of green space for running around and bridges over creeks that create a fun trove in the heart of the city for your kids. Follow the walkway down to a larger playground for bigger kids, with a picnic pagoda attached and basketball and tennis courts adjacent to it. Further into the park, follow the walkways around to more pavilions, crossing bridges and hidden greens, and follow the stream that runs to the adjacent park, Azalea Dickson. You'll need to cross the main road (Central Blvd) to access it, but it is worth visiting to see the urban oasis these two parks provide!
Need a bite to eat? You're about a mile (10 minutes) from two Publix grocery stores to pick up a picnic lunch. If you head towards Thornton Park, you can enjoy dining at Antonio's Pizzeria or Graffiti Junction, or head to E. Colonial Drive to check out Lazy Moon and its larger-than-life pizzas!
