Stop by Lannie Road Park in North Jacksonville for a Fun Few Hours Playing in the Sun!

Lannie Road Park is a great playground to stop by for a little outdoor fun if you are in the area! The park has a classic playground, softball field, and shaded pavilion. Spend a few hours enjoying the great open green space for the kiddos to run around. Be sure to bring along sports equipment- you could get a great game of kickball going on the softball field! There is also a basketball court for the older kids to enjoy if they aren’t as interested in the playground. If you are looking for shade, the playground itself isn’t well covered, but there is a paved pavilion right beside it to cool off. Pack a refreshing snack, but if you want a picnic lunch, bring a blanket, there are no tables!

The playground is a basic jungle gym with features that will keep kids of a wide age range entertained for quite a bit. There are two big slides, monkey bars, and big kid swings. Little kids will love the cute little animal rockers and some of the easier climbing options in the jungle gym. I’d recommend wearing sneakers to avoid a mess in the car since the ground is a mix of grass and sand.

One of the coolest parts about this park is that it is right beside the Gateway Radio Control Club, which flies mini airplanes! It is open to the public, along with picnic benches. Stop by to see them flying the mini planes, and you could even sign up for a beginners class on the weekends if your kiddos are interested!

The playground has a parking lot with handicapped parking spots. However, there is no restroom here, so be sure to plan your timing in advance. Another thing to be aware of before your visit is that the parking lot tends to flood easily and becomes inaccessible.
