Mama's Fish House has amazing food in a beautiful beach setting.

It's hard to mention you're headed to Maui without someone saying- 'Oh you have to go to Mama's!' Well we've been coming to Maui for over ten years now and guess what - we've never been to Mama's, until now. It was well worth the wait and now I'm a little disappointed we haven't treated ourselves before!

Pulling into their driveway, the valet greets you and sends you down the stairs to what feels to be a time warp to old Hawaii. My description will never do it justice - you must go yourself! Reservations are very hard to come by at this point, but we scored our lunch reservation the day prior to our meal. Using the Open Table app, we checked every morning and noticed they had a few lunch reservations pop up (and disappear) every day. We were lucky enough to snag one! 

Their menu changes daily. Lunch and dinner menus don't vary in price and expect to pay upwards of $300 including a drink or two. Maybe that was why we have never dined with them. You can imagine the college version of Maui is much different than Maui in your mid-30s. Their food is quite amazing in taste and presentation, and the service was wonderful and friendly. Lunchtime offers the views of the surrounding palms and water, while dinner is more intimate with tiki torches and candles.

While children are welcomed (I was surprised to see so many), I would keep this experience exclusively for date night. I'm not risking my child getting hooked on a lobster tail.
