Pfeifer Park in Clackamas is a 5.5 acre neighborhood park featuring a playground, a covered picnic area, walking trail, and sports fields.
There’s a spacious parking lot located near the dead end of SE 139th Ave. Parking here you'll walk by a porta potty (which was fairly clean and well maintained when I visited), then the playground opens up before you. Consisting of two structures, distanced and separated by a swing set (with two kid swings and two baby swings) there is a playground for younger kids (suggested ages 2-5) and one for older kids (for ages 5-12). The smaller structure offers steps up to monkey bars, a steering wheel, and then up to a double slide. There's a chain rope ladder on one side as well. The larger structure has a bit more to offer with more steps up to a shorter slide, then continuing up to two slides going opposite directions at the very top. There's two additional, taller and more advanced monkey bar options, a unique ladder to climb up as well, and a few other climbing features.
There are benches around the outside of the playground making it easy to sit back and observe while the kids play, but a covered area with several picnic tables isn't far, creating some distance from the playground for when it's time for distracted kids to eat.
The rest of the park is an open, grassy field. Soccer nets are set up at one end and football field goals run the length of the grass, making this a prime spot for sports practice.
If you came more just to get a walk in, bring a stroller and walk a few times around the park on the paved path that surrounds it.
Since this park is very open I could see it getting very hot in the summer, so bringing appropriate sun protection would be a must.
