Point of Rocks Park delights for everyone with two large playgrounds and a floating boardwalk!

Point of Rocks Park is a massive, yet welcoming park. The large play area has two playsets. One is more like a tot lot, and the other is more suitable for older kids. The playground surfaces are completely covered in mulch which makes them safe for even the littlest toddlers.

We like to start at the upper playground and follow the adorable "Insect Trail" (a series of insect pictures) down to a lower playground. This play area is insect-themed, as well. It includes a caterpillar tunnel, and mushrooms and bee structures to climb on and swing from!  There is educational signage throughout the play area about the habitats, diets, and lives of various critters.

From this part of the park, you can follow a dirt trail to the marsh walk.  The trail goes for about 1.5 miles, through wetland via a floating boardwalk!  My children absolutely love this little hike, and so do I!  We often find various types of insects, so make sure to pack a bug catcher.  The hike is not challenging but would be difficult with a stroller.  The loop connects all the way back up to the first playground and the parking lot.

The parking lot in front of the large playground makes parking easy. Additionally, the park has tennis courts, soccer fields, and a covered picnic pavilion. There's a Little Free Library between the parking lot and the playground. The restrooms are located between the parking lot and the soccer fields. There is also one portapotty by the lower playground.
