This 14-acre community park, located in Gresham’s North Central Neighborhood, offers a variety of activities for the entire family.
Check out the playground, which has two separated structures, one on each side of the covered picnic tables. The smaller one is perfect for toddlers or small children and has a slide, a hard mesh tube to climb through, and a unique spinning marble feature. There’s two baby swings here as well. The other area is more suited towards 5 to 12 year olds and offers some equipment requiring skill and coordination, such as the stand on spinner, the ring things to climb through, or a medium sized rope web. There are also two swings here.
If you’re planning a party or event this may be a suitable place as there are rows of picnic tables under two reservable covered structures side by side, with two large grills and even an island counter with sink. In fact, there’s been an event here every time we’ve visited. There’s also many picnic tables scattered throughout the park, some under trees, offering shady spots to sit and relax.
The picnic tables look out onto the grass and to the pond where there are sometimes lots of waterfowl. Be mindful when on the grass, especially as you get closer to the pond, there is bird poop everywhere. We come here knowing this and still enjoy watching the birds, although the grass further away in the sports fields do not have this same predicament. The park also asks that you NOT feed the ducks and other birds, stating that it can make them sick and less likely to be able to care for themselves.
There’s a .6 mile paved path that goes along the perimeter of the park, which makes for a nice stroller walk or would even be suitable for young bike riders. There are also two bridges (over tiny creeks) and two gazebos looking out to the pond and fountains, although this is not the place to go wading or splashing in the water.
If sports is more your thing there is both a designated soccer field as well as a basketball court.
There are multi-stall restrooms with flush toilets and running water next to the playground and parking lot.
My family typically enjoys strolling the path here, watching the birds, and playing at the playground.
