Beautiful, unique park 30 min north of Nashville
Ridgetop Station Park is an arboretum, historical site, and playground all wrapped in one. It’s located in Ridgetop, Tennessee, thirty minutes north of Nashville. Both kids and adults will love visiting this park as there is a little something for everyone. There is a wooden play train, where we spent most of our time, located right next to the playground. While the train is a bit worn, it’s perfect for any train-loving kid.
There are plenty of swings available, and a playground was recently installed. The playground is geared towards older kids (3+) with more complex climbing structures and tall slides. However, even the littlest tots would enjoy swinging, running around the mulch bed, and going down one of the shorter slides. There is also an old red caboose located near the entrance of the park.
The park is also home to a 19-century antebellum-styled house with lawns and gardens, and a smokehouse. The Wilson home now operates as a museum, open May through October on Sunday afternoons (1:30-4:30 pm). There is a 6/10 mile walking trail that leads you around the house and through the property. There is also a large pavilion with picnic tables available for use.
Parking and restrooms are available on site.
