Skinquarter Farm Market has a fun pumpkin patch in the fall, with an optional hayride, a hay mountain to climb, a corn maze, and ice cream!

Skinquarter Farm Market has a low-key, family-friendly pumpkin patch that is open from mid-September until the end of October each year. It is ideal for young children, as the market provides wagons that are safe for children to pull throughout the patch. Additional activities are the massive corn maze, a hayride, and a hay mountain for your adventurous kiddos who love to climb!

My 4-year-old definitely needed help finding his way through the corn maze. You will need to stay close to your little ones throughout the maze. The hayride is optional but very fun!  It is quick (less than five minutes), and makes a circle around the patch.  If you choose not to do the hayride, you can simply grab a wagon and walk to the patch.  The hay mountain makes an exciting part of the day, but again, you will need to keep an eye on your children as they climb their way to the top!

This pumpkin patch is typically open on weekdays, and rarely crowded Monday - Friday. However, the hayride does not run during the week. If the hayride is a "must" for your crew, save this for the weekend. Admission to the farm is free, and that includes the hayride and hay mountain.  Pumpkin prices vary from year to year.  Skinquarter Farm Market updates their Facebook page with pricing and scheduling information, so always check here before visiting.  Occasionally, discounts on your pumpkins are offered for donating canned goods.  Again, this information is listed on the farm's social media account.

We finished our day of pumpkin picking with some yummy custard.  Jimer's Frozen Custard truck is right in front of the picnic tables and the parking lot.  Keep in mind that only cash is accepted, so plan accordingly.  The servings are huge - a kid-size is enough for an adult!

You can enjoy your custard at the picnic tables, where there are a few sinks and portapotties as well.  The market, located to the left of the picnic tables, sells locally grown produce, as well as products from locally-owned businesses
