Urban Park is a small park, off the beaten path and rarely crowded.

It is flanked by two one-way streets on either side. There is a playground and two playground structures. One tot structure and one regular structure with 2 slides. The entire playground is covered with a rubber play surface. In between the two play structures, there is a circular sand area. A set of monkey bars and a rock climbing area are just two of the highlights of this playground. There are also two infant slides and two regular slides. This park has lots of natural shade, which will be nice on a hot, summer day. It is a very aesthetically pleasing, well-maintained landscape, and nice red/tan play set material colors. This playground is probably better for children less than 10 years old. There are not too many climbing things for older children.

Down from the playground area, there is a fenced-in basketball court. There is also a water and dog fountain. There are multiple benches throughout the park.  Between the playground area and the basketball court is a grassy area for kids to run around. There isn't a ton of parking, most of the parking is on the side of the road. If you have more than one child, this park would be a bit harder to watch them both, especially with roads on either side, so consider bringing a friend with you!

Keep in mind too - there are no restrooms! If you are from out of town - you could go to this playground then drive two minutes down the road and explore quaint downtown Cary.

Hi! I'm Kelsey Griffin. I currently live with my husband and our two boys in the Raleigh/Durham (RDU) area in North Carolina. We are always on the move and enjoy all outdoor activities. I am a physician assistant and I work part time in a local emergency department. I am passionate about exploring the world we live in. Nature and free play are key for development of children and adults. RDU is rapidly changing, we are enjoying finding new parks, playgrounds, and family friendly spots around town. I can't wait to be able to assist other parents plan new fun activities and form memories with their family!
