This playground complements the beautiful green space and walking paths at Volunteer Park in Seattle!
The wooded, shaded playground is every kid’s outdoor dream- with so many different places to climb, swing, slide, and more! There are many sections for kiddos to explore, including separate jungle gym areas for other age groups. The smaller playground is designed for ages two to five and has small slides to keep them entertained. It also has an all accessibility ramp and slides onto the jungle gym. There are a couple of big jungle gyms to entertain the older kiddos for hours! It is the perfect place for them to run around playing hide and seek and other playground games. When we visited on a sunny weekend day, it was pretty crowded, with kids all playing together. Aside from the playscapes, there are also many cool features placed all around the playground area. One of the coolest has to be the big rock, where kids can practice for hikes and pretend they are on top of a mountain. There is also a zipline that is almost guaranteed to be a favorite by everyone that visits. Both older and younger kids will love the various musical features all around, and parents will love that it adds a bit of an interactive and educational factor to their day outside!
A fence does not enclose the playground, but it is sectioned off by stairs and trees from the rest of Volunteer Park. There is a parking lot right near it, so it is very convenient, especially if you only plan to do the playground that day. However, it is worth exploring everything else that the giant park offers, including many different walking paths, beautiful green space, and even a Conservatory and the Seattle Asian Art Museum. There are great monuments to walk past and learn more about as well. For a bit more information on the rest of Volunteer Park, check out our write-up!
