Head to Von Colln playground for unique and modern climbing features, a fun urban atmosphere, and play areas that all ages can enjoy.
The Von Colln playground is located steps from the infamous Rocky steps and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It is also close to the Whole Foods off of Pennsylvania Avenue, in the heart of Philadelphia’s museum district.
The playground offers separate play structures for big kids and little ones as well as both baby swings and big kid swings (a few of each). The playground also has restrooms onsite and a big green space that is used for baseball games. You could also easily pack a frisbee, soccer ball, or football and round up a game if your little ones have lost interest in the playground.
The park has picnic tables and space to run around so it makes for the perfect space to stay a while. Pick up lunch at one of the local spots down the street to enjoy outside on a nice day at the tables, or bring a blanket to sit on the grass.
The structures are really fun, modern playscapes and have a wide variety of unique climbing structures helping your kiddos explore their creativity and confidence. The structures are playful and different, and will definitely allow for a long time of entertainment if needed. There is one swing for all abilities available onsite and the playground is handicap accessible with several ramps and flat areas to transition between the spaces.
There are bathrooms available but if they are locked you are surrounded by local businesses where you can stop in if you need to use the facilities.
Access to the Schukyl River trail is also just blocks away, making it a great location for a complete family outing. On the way to the Schukyl River, you can visit the Philadelphia Museum of Art or walk around the Fountain of Sea Horses or the Washington Monument Fountain. There are plenty of options and places to see in this area, so make sure to fit this playground in your day in Philly if you are around this spot!
