Enjoy This Large, Fenced-In Playground with Possibilities for Imaginative Play!
Winfree Memorial Baptist Church has a great playground for children! The entire playground is fenced and has a latch gate, ideal for keeping toddlers safe in the large enclosed space. There are THREE different play structures. Two are small, made for early walkers and toddlers. The third is much larger, and my eight-year-old loves it! Additionally, there is a climbing dome, always a hit for my little monkeys! There are two small cottage-like pretend houses, which inspire imaginative play. My kiddos love to play "store" and "house" in these toddler-size playhouses. It is easy and fun to have a picnic because there are a few kid-sized picnic tables within the fenced area. If you would rather have a larger picnic table, there are several in front of the church.
The playground also has several tricycles and little cars available to ride, a big sandbox with digging tools and large trucks, balls, and a small open space, which my kids use to play tag or pass the ball back and forth. While the playground has much for younger children, it also has two big kid swings, so you can bring older siblings here, and be sure they will have fun, too! The music wall at the front of the playground is so fun. My kids love to compose their own original pieces, beating on the drums and singing their little hearts out!
Parking is easy and convenient, directly in front of the playground. The back of the parking lot has a basketball hoop and is large and flat, so you could certainly pack bikes and scooters to enjoy this large area. The restrooms are inside the church. The preschool uses the playground throughout the week, so schedule a visit during the weekend or late afternoon.
After playing, head over to Great Harvest Bread Co.! My kids love the sandwiches and large cookies!
